Nosta had been known as an embittered being for the past three years of her life. After the death of two best friends, watching another move away, and enduring an abusive family in a poor neighborhood, no one could blame her either. She'd been 'fine' on her own, determined and still doing good for the world. After graduating from magic school she had taken to adopting orphans, and that had been enough.
However, her father didn't think so.
Ruse - the parent she'd never known - who had put her up for adoption, only to accidently be reunited in a freak accident, had decided Nosta needed a change.
Of course, when he lifted his wand and started chanting, she'd expected something along the lines of pain, temporary imprisonment, or being chained down and forced to listen to some lecture.
She had not expected, at twenty-one, to be thrown into a void of glowing light, only to land in wherever she was.
Anyone who might have been around would have been stunned to see a young woman in loose, black robes with a shaved head fall from the sky, from what seemed like a bolt of lightning. Landing in the middle of a green field, the girl sat up annoyed and stunned, picking grass out of her hair and gazing around at the foreign landscape.
Right away she knew she couldn't be anywhere in her own 'world'; that her father had either plummeted her back through time or had sent her to a different world entirely. Nowhere, anymore, was there fields like this - uninterupted and devoid of structures, roads, and animals bred for death.
Sighing, she began her long walk to locating people. Find out where she was. She hoped that there wasn't a different language.
