Word spread across the land. A joining of the Gods had been called, and Anubis stood beside his king- Ra. Hands clasped in the center of his abdomen. Blue orbs turned to his king as he stood silent, forever at the God's side.
However, today, something was calling him to the surface, something past the crossroads and back into the realm of the living. He bowed his apologies before disappearing into an abyss. The golden orbs of the jackel god consumed by blackness.
Darkness consumed the bronze body of the God as he sunk deeper and deeper into the black haze. He felt something changing. Something in his appearance. His Royal garb-the same, as he looked down in the darkness. No that was not what changed. His hand pulled forward in the darkness... the same then as before.
It was rare that he would travel to the world of the living, rare that he would expose himself-and thats when he remembered what was changing. His hands flew to his face, he felt his Jackel-esque features disappear... a human exterior pulled on.
What magick was this? The magick of his King, Ra.
Shaking his head, he felt his body become cold, and a wetness overcome him. Turning up, he looked up, sun beat down to the water he was in.
Water.
The Nile.
Slowly he began to swim to the surface. The darkhaired man appeared at the surface and took in air that was not needed by Gods, but yet seemed undeniable that he would enhale some. Eyes began to drift to the shore-women stared admirably to the man who appeared from water, before kneeling and bowing. His head shook as he slowly swam to the side.
The still rich clothes he wore caught the women offguard-in a way feeling as if they had been right to bow. He stood over them, azure orbs looking down as his white dressings dripped. The sun beat down on him, and for a moment he felt pitty for them. "Stand." he said calmly.

There are many places you could find the Cat Queen. Most known was the boat on which her father resided. On which her father was commanding, but now, today she was at one of her other known places and not by her fathers side.
She was clad in many respects as a normal mortal. The feline aspect of her appearence only hidden away. Beneath the surface, while only the cat like gaze she had stayed true in their golden glory. The drappings over her form were not her usual Red silk but instead a vibrantly soft yellow. She was dressed as any mortal would be, nothing special really. And she went by the name Hotempa.
She sat by the nile edge where the great palace met with its calm shores. Only certain people of previlege were allowed there, and though the Pharoah and King himself did not know why he let her be, she set herself calmly there. Gathering a few lilies before a sudden one of many cats came brushing up against her purring. She smiled gently and gazed down, to let a soft hand land on its head. Caressing the velvet like head below her. Though she did not appear to be a woman of Godly power, her beauty spoke for it all. For like most gods, it captivated any one who glanced at it. That perhaps is why the King was so easily persuaded.
She would play the calm one today, the servant of the King. But it was not servitude she cared about, it was his safety. She was here to protect him, for in this time there was something out of the ordinary. Something that perhaps would be bad for the King if not good. She did not trust his most trusted advisor. She did not trust him at all.

What was his reason for finding his own temperary exile amongst the mortals of the living world-one would not know, for after all, he himself did not know.
The women fondeled over him as they brushed his body with warm bindings. "You mustn't catch a chill... sir." They were stunned by the sudden appearance of the man, as well as the sudden appearance of two desert jackels, both black in color-a rarity in deed.
He stood, still streaked with water, yet less wet... petting the creatures that curled around him as if they were cats-yet stood guard as the proud jackel would.
The mention of the title 'sir' caused him to bend, descretely and look up past his slightly long hair to the women before him. "Nushusaa" he said in his deep voice.
The women now stared at the man which was named after the heavens and the breath of life. They could only curtsey as one bowed. "Anput" said a beautiful women of dark hair and light dress. She wore a beautiful headdress of golden stars.
The other woman, not nearly as beautiful-yet in her own way was, bowed slowly "Sebut". She smiled to Anput, as if seeing the love that had appeared within Nushusaa's eyes.
Now the Jackel god knew what he was there for. To find his wife. Osiris had spoke of a love in which the Jackel needed to find, and now he supposed it were time. Anput- meaning of stars of heaven. A name fit for a Goddess.
Anubis stood, took her hand and smiled-well as best as he had ever before. "Please, give me the honor in walking you home, Lady Anput." He, once more, smiled.
Sebut grinned before nodding. Knowing it was her time to go. "I will be off Anput-father does need me." And with that Sebut took off, running with her water barrel as fast as it would allow her.
Nushusaa closed his eyes, and began to walk with his future love.

Suddenly from inside the palace there came a great yell. A commotion had stired and guards came rushing through to catch eye of Bastet. A woman who stared at them as if she did not know what commotion was being done, oh but she knew.
Inside a man struggled with the guards, a man let go of a dagger, a man was captured and killed. Slowly she rose and moved with gentle feet to the inner surroundings of the palace. Keeping with the other servants who all whispered among eachother, almost crying, shocked at what had taken place, yet she was not. " Hotempa!" a kind gentle girl called her name and came rushing to her side. " The man..he tried to murder out beloved King." with narrowed eyes Bastet turned her head and looked at the man before speaking gently to her. " Do not worry, Asasuneti, he will be punished" Bast knew that in deed, but something was not right with the man, he did not act alone. Someone had ordered him to do it.
Bast glanced to the Pharaoh who held his arm before speaking strongly. " Guards...you will bring him to the square. And he will be done." the crowd whispered even more amongst eachother and a cheer was set. "No..please.." was all the man had to say before with a motion from the King his tongue was removed and only a muffled sound was left.
Quickly the crowd dispearsed, everyone following after. Every hand maiden, servant, the only ones left was the Guards. Hotempa was ushered to the Kings side as they were being transported by the strength of men. She walked beside as they reached the court square, before the markets, and where most of the population could always be found hussling about during the day. When they stopped, Hotempa moved and wrapped a clothe soaked in the oils of special herbs before speaking a prayer inside her mind. Bastet would see that the King's cut would heal quickly. He rose from his spot as Hotempa moved back to her area and watched with contentment.
A large pole was brought forth and set firmly in its place in the middle of the crowd. " Be it known to all who defy the Pharaoh. " his arms raised to his people as the man was tied very tightly around the pole. In a position and strength that would not allow himself to be set free. " That the traitors of Egypt and her lands, of the King and his people will find their justice swiftly done. The Gods act unmercifully in this retribution!" the wipping began then, lashes for many moments, much blood shed before finally the Pharaoh commanded it stopped. " He will stay here and burn away, let no one touch him or give him water for then you too will become a traitor." The crowd then slowly began to dispearse as the King himself was taken away, instead towards the nile. But Bast did not follow, she moved to this man and he looked up with broken eyes. " Bastet does not give her blessings to you. " her eyes flashed suddenly and his own widdened. " Traitor of Egypt.Who would stay silent in his masters will, even as his breaths grew colder..Where is he now? Not to help you." she spat at his feet and turned.

Sobek

God of the Nile

Bare chested the God of the Nile moved along its banks. While its green waters lapped against his ankles. Long boats traveled their courses while fishes worked to make a catch for the market, or their masters. But each bowed their heads respectfully as he passed by. None dared look upon a God in any other way than respect. Passing through reeds, a large open mouth Nile Crocodile slide soft belly into the water. For he knew his masters walk. Sobek himself was a Crocodile God.
Not only did he guard the rivers, he guarded the Pharos as well as the other Gods. He was a protector. Though in human flesh, as he was, others might have though differently. Underneath was that viciousness that a crocodile held. Just as they were powerful creatures, he was a powerful God. Brown eyes scanned the waters, which reflected the glow of the sun, causing gold and orange shimmers off light. Soon however he found his footfalls stopping short. There upon the sands sat a woman.
To those around, she looked just as fair as any dark haired maiden. But he knew better. Sobek’s smile rose to his lips as he moved forwards. The flat stone upon his necklace hitting against his chest. While arms with bands at various places, such as his biceps and large leather bands around his wrists extended opening to her. “Masa’a Al Kair” then one arm folded before his stomach in a bow of greetings. His attentions were pulled up however, there was movement and men came rushing from the palace. As Bastet moved he followed, brows narrowing. Who would have been so foolish.
When the man was brought forth and bound then whipped he scowled. Walking with the Feline Goddess she listened to her give her mind to the man. A traitor such as this he wouldn’t take lightly himself. A low almost inaudible whistle came from his lips, and the shore of the river bulged in a splash of water. And a full grown twenty foot long male crocodile came upon the land, tail flicking sand behind it. In silent communication he told the animal to watch the man, before he turned to face Bastet…<br>

While she waited at the pool of the nile, the blessed heart of Egypt, Bastet was content to herself. But the waters riffled ever so gently and from her eyes when they raised she saw Sobek, great God of the Nile. He approached and she smiled gently at him. His words, his bow and she in turn did the same. Responding back. Only a God could see through the masking of her cloak, only a God could see that the Cat Goddess rested inside the body of a peasent. It was the easiest way to become closer to the King, without acutally revealing herself. Even the King would not be allowed to let eyes rest upon his Gods, unless the time was seen as right.
The guards moved quick and fast and the ceremony began. A ceremony of showing that defiance to the Pharoah would not be tolerate. She stood by and watched it all take place, and in the end spoke her mind and peace. Suddenly from out the waters came a large gater and Sobek spoke to it. Smiling ever more she turned then to Sobek. "What has brought the great Sobek to the Nile edge? I do hope that all is well and pray that nothing has happened to Ra?.."
She seemed a bit concerned at that. Lately there had been rather suspicious comings and goings in the Palace thus she took to leaving her fathers side and joined the realm of Mortals, in which she could look after the King and Egypt more closely. At least for the short time being. She wondered if Apep the great evil Serpent did not come back to life and try to swallow her father once more. If that was the case then Bastet would leave and be there as soon as could be to kill him once more, and again and again if need be.
